The Law of Allowing has at times been one of the most difficult things for me to come to terms with. As I have what could be called an analytical mind I find it difficult not to analyse all my desires.
This analysing actually has the opposite affect of what I want, by resisting it! The secret is simply letting go and not resisting.
But it should not be overstated this can be difficult because most people simply do not understand what allowing is all about.
You have to allow circumstances to be what they are, even if you don't agree with them. That includes people too.
Many people view a situation that does not comply with their wishes and try and change it to suit what they see as right.
That is why the newspapers are full of stories of groups opposed to war, opposed to poverty, opposed to drugs.
So if you do not allow all the things you do not agree with to exist, you are resisting them, and therefore are attracting more of them.
The law of allowing in this instance does not mean agreeing with, it simply means that you accept their existence, but choose to focus on what you do want rather than what you don't.
So to use the law of allowing on the above examples, don't oppose war,be pro peace! The more your thoughts are focused on world peace the more peace the world will have!
The same principle can be applied to people too. You may have a neighbour that you don't like, or don't like his/her lifestyle, but the more you focus on the things you don't like the more things you will find to dislike.
Instead focus on the qualities of the neighbourhood that you like. Then through the Universal Law of Attraction you will receive more of these qualities.
But as I said earlier, for some people this can be very hard to do. We let things and situations eat away at us, dominating far more of our thoughts than is actually necessary.
How many times has an argument happened at work or at home and you replay the situation over and over in your head for days afterwards. Repeating what was said to you and rewording your reply to what you should have said instead of what you actually said.
I often found this problem would affect me at the end of the day just as I put my head on the pillow to drop off to sleep. As every other distraction of the day disappeared the old argument would once again pop into my head.
Far from having a nice restful sleep I would lie there wide awake rerunning the argument over and over in my head, getting more and more agitated as time went on.
The problem is that it doesn’t solve anything; it actually makes the situation worse. The problem is now completely blown out of all proportions in your mind and you are wide awake with no chance of getting off to sleep either.
You can’t resist what has already happened! You might not like it or even agree with it. But you have to allow it!
Use the law of allowing to allow it to exists and move on.
Allow situations and people you don't agree with, without giving them too much focus and attention. The more you resist, the more you will have to resist against.
