Afformations, like affirmations -
but with a significant twist

Afformations is not simply a miss-spelling of the word affirmations, but is a similar process with a significant twist.

As we have already learnt, repeating positive affirmations on a daily basis can quickly get a new statement into your subconscious to overwrite any negative emotions you might have developed over the years.

This has proved to be very effective for a lot of people, but for others sadly it had little or no effect.

The reason for this is because the conscious mind of these people simply rejects the positive affirmations before they can effectively enter into their subconscious.

Let's look at how this can happen.

If, for example, someone who suffered from chronic shyness was told he had to make a speech he might well prepare for this by quoting on a daily basis a positive affirmation - I am full of confidence!

For the majority of people this affirmation would be effective. But for others, while they repeat the affirmation, I am full of confidence, their conscious mind, that little voice in their head says - no you're not, you're terrified of making that speech!

Let's face it, it's very difficult to truely believe you are full of confidence when all your life you have suffered from chronic shyness.

So the positive affirmation is rejected by the conscious mind, and the shyness and lack of confidence is given greater emphasis by the conscious mind.

So what are Afformations and how do they work?

Afformations where discovered in April 1997 by Noah St. John after he recognised that the affirmations he was saying to himself where not working for him.

He realised that, for him, it didn't matter how often he repeated a positive affirmation that little voice in his head would reject it.

So he began to ask himself why!

He began asking himself all sorts of question and coming up with all sorts of answers. Then one day whilst in the shower it dawned on him.

He realised that the human mind is always asking and searching for the answers to questions. That being the case, he couldn't see why he was always making statements, affirmations, that his mind couldn't believe.

He confirmed this idea by asking himself a simple question - why is the sky blue. Instantly his mind began searching for an answer to this simple question.

And so Afformations where born.

And the great thing is it's so easy to change an affirmation into an afformation to see if you get a better result.

Try this experiment. Make the statement (affirmation),"I am rich!" Now, your conscious mind probably says, "No you're not!"

Now try this, change that statement to a question (afformation), "Why am I so rich?" See what happens now? Your brain can't help trying to find an answer to that question.

The more that Noah St. John began to look into afformations (questions) the more he realised that we had all been asking ourselves questions all our lives, but they where the wrong sort of questions.

Think about it, how many times have you asked yourself this sort of question, "Why can't I ever get this right?", "Why don’t I have enough money?”, "Why am I always in the wrong place at the wrong time?"

As we know, the Law of Attraction returns to us that which our dominant thought is, so if you are asking "Why don’t I have enough money?” and your mind is search for the answer, it becomes your dominant thought.

So guess what the Law of Attraction gives you? More situations where you don't have enough money!

So to sum it up, Afformations are empowering questions that cause your mind to focus on what you really want, and stop focusing on what you don’t want.

By using affirmations in conjunction with afformations you can get what you want twice as fast.
